Prepare a quote with Quote Builder

Organize company, customer, line-item, VAT and validity information before designing the PDF pages.

Quote details

Quote Builder separates company, customer, line items, summary, notes and pages. Company fields include name, contact details, address and logo. Quote metadata includes number, issue date, valid-until date and currency.

New drafts include sample company/customer data and example cost lines. Replace or remove those entries before preparing a real quote. Inspect the dates, currency, VAT input and logo as well; a populated field is not evidence that it came from your account or the current model.

Line items

Each line needs a description, quantity, unit and unit price. Make the unit explicit—piece, metre, hour or package—so a reviewer can reproduce the subtotal. VAT settings should match the commercial and legal context of the quote.

The current calculation multiplies each line’s quantity by its unit price, adds those line totals into a subtotal and applies the quote’s VAT percentage to that subtotal. Treat the unit price as the price for the displayed unit. For example, a quantity of 4 at a unit price of 25 contributes 100 to the subtotal, regardless of whether the unit label is pieces or hours.

Quote lines are editable draft entries. Opening Quote Builder does not automatically make its sample or manually entered amounts match the current cutlist. Check quantities against the intended model revision and review the quote-wide VAT setting before design.

Notes and assumptions

Use notes for exclusions, delivery, validity, taxes and the model revision behind the quantity. Avoid implying that an Autostrek model is an engineering certification or final site verification.

Preserve the quote work

The current Quote Builder draft is session state and is not included in the CAD .strek save/load workflow. Export a checked PDF and retain a separate editable record of the entered details and line items before reloading. Saving the model alone does not back up the quote draft or its page design.

Check before design

Verify arithmetic and commercial details before arranging pages. Page design can make a quote attractive but cannot correct an incorrect unit or scope. Mark practice exports as drafts and use real business/legal review before issuing a customer quote.
